KURT SIGRIST
In the Monastery Church from 9.10.2004 to 20.2.2005

On the occasion of the positioning of his work Unterstand (Shelter) in the Schoenthal Sculpture Park, the artist from Oberwald also showed some work cycles in the monastery church. “Kurt Sigrist turns practically everything into a house. There are three anthropomorphic steles as Behausung (Dwelling), two of iron, one of bronze , which address our feeling of being at home within ourselves, but also represent the kind of dwelling which – having feet – can depart, that one can lose. Understood this way, the artist speaks simultaneously of being at home and losing one’s home.” (Annemarie Maag)
